Forget Your Perfect Offering

Rebecca’s imperfectly perfect pasta – hiding under blankets

People are rallying on behalf of our families!

“When I first heard the Joshua Station families now have no kitchen facilities and are basically confined to their small rooms with their kids, I wanted to do something!” Our friend Rebecca Offner knew immediately what she wanted to do—a pasta dinner for all 23 families ASAP.

“I’m Italian, so of course!” Rebecca called ahead to Trader Joe’s with heads up she wasn’t a hoarder shopper, but could they put aside 10 boxes of pasta? It still wasn’t enough, so other friends searched their kitchens and put pots on to boil. “Then I didn’t have enough sauce! I ended up kinda embarrassed –  it wasn’t my best pasta effort! Seriously, it wasn’t. But we got it there in time for dinner that first night after the facility lockdown.”

Now Rebecca and friends have pooled funds to send a taco truck to Joshua Station for Taco Tuesdays each week through April. Our families are grateful and so is our staff team, Rebecca! Reports are, your meals have been delicious and so appreciated!

There is a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in

Q: What might you and friends do to “let the light in” for families at Joshua Station during this time?

Denver’s Stay-At-Home ordinance specifies that delivering food and supplies to those in need is an “essential service,” and in this case it’s vital. Please see our updated needs list, and find out how our delivery system is keeping everyone as safe as possible.

Financial donations are also especially needed for our families at this time. You can give online, or mail contributions to Mile High Ministries, 913 N. Wyandot St., Denver, CO 80204.

A last note: We recognize YOU have your own significant challenges now, and our hearts and prayers truly are with our circle of supporters in these times. Please let us know how we can encourage you in these days we all are facing. Feel free to let me know directly, and I’ll share with the staff in our daily online meetings.

Peace in Christ,
