It’s my pleasure to introduce the executive team, or “e-team,” that leads our staff at Mile High Ministries. Although some of these folks are relatively new to their positions, each has deep professional experience and connections with MHM, some stretching over decades.

Let’s start with Jedidah Frederick, our Director of Operations.
Jedidah oversees our business office and financial management, as well as facilities, IT, HR, and emergency preparedness. It’s a lot! Fortunately, Jedidah has years of executive leadership at all levels and brings a wealth of experience to her role.
Jedidah and I go way back, starting when she led one of our longtime partners, Whiz Kids. Our mutual friend, Don Reeverts from the Denver Leadership Foundation, hosted an annual retreat to pray for our city and for one another. Jedidah and I built a lot of trust over years of praying together, making it easy and natural for us to team up professionally.
Jedidah has a deep commitment to building the best possible organizational platform to support our programs and the many organizations, vendors, and community partners of Mile High Ministries.

Next up is Kira Leefers, our Director of Development.
You may already know Kira if you’ve been around Mile High Ministries for a while. She previously served as our Volunteer and Event Specialist. In that role, Kira recruited and supported hundreds of volunteers. She also led our annual Christmas Store for two years.
Before coming to MHM, Kira had a professional background in corporate marketing and in church leadership.
Our development team includes people focused on communications, grants, individual donors, volunteers, events, and database management. While Kira and her team are professionals, what drives our development team is love: love for the families and communities that we serve, and for the many generous people whose  gifts make this work possible.
I hope you’ll find an opportunity to get to know Kira. She is eager to find ways to support your God-given desire to be generous!

Miriam Medina is our Director of Formation.
The people of Mile High Ministries are responding to the painful realities of poverty and homelessness in our city.  Miriam supports us with tools and practices to help us consider what kind of people we are becoming in all our doing.
Among other things, Miriam guides a weekly rhythm of prayer for our staff. She leads our participation in a “Preaching Peace” initiative to discover a gospel of peace for the healing of our cities. And she leads the team of chaplains that is an important part of our community life.
Miriam was a bilingual Family Advocate at Joshua Station for several years before taking on this new leadership role. Before coming to Mile High Ministries, she worked with the Urban Ventures Leadership Foundation in Minneapolis and served on the staff of a large local church.
Miriam and I are both ordained members of the Street Psalms Community, an international communion of leaders called to seek peace within the rich and sometimes challenging diversity of our urban contexts.

Vince Trujillo is Director of Programs at Mile High Ministries.
Vince and his wife Veronica are lifelong Denver Northsiders who grew up in one of our partner churches: New Life in Christ. They have been connected to MHM for nearly 30 years, first as leadership apprentices at the Issachar Center, then as resident volunteers at Joshua Station.
They’ve helped lead the Christmas Store for decades as volunteers. They’ve gotten their families involved as volunteers, from their kids to cousins, parents, uncles and aunties! Their parents and other family members have even been residents in MHM communities and participants in our programs.
Vince has directed programs and served on the Board of some of our favorite nonprofit community partners for two decades. Throughout that time, Vince and Veronica have been generous donors to Mile High Ministries.
It is no exaggeration to say that Vince knows Mile High Ministries from every angle, positioning him perfectly for his key leadership role!

The “quarterback” of the executive team is Amy Jackson, our Chief of Staff.
Amy has been connected to Mile High Ministries since 2003, when she and Nancy Black opened the first counseling program at Joshua Station. Amy was living in the mountains at that time and drove to Denver on weekends to provide mental health services for Joshua Station residents.
Amy spent more than a decade in executive leadership of a program supporting victims of domestic violence before moving to Denver in 2015 to direct the program at Joshua Station. In 2019 she became Deputy Director of Mile High Ministries, helping to guide MHM through the Covid pandemic, the development of Clara Brown Commons, and the recent renovations at Joshua Station.
In 2025, Amy took on a new role as our Chief of Staff. MHM has a gifted and dedicated staff team, and Amy’s job is to make sure that they have what they need to do their jobs—including to support our donors, volunteers, Board members, and community partners to seek God’s peace for our city through the creative, compassionate, and prayerful development of people and communities.
