Lots of life happening in this NOT A MOTEL
For twenty-five years, Joshua Station has been helping families transition from homelessness to healthy, interdependent living. It is a special place filled with precious people and constant activity—beautiful messes made by children, the aroma of meals being cooked and shared, and the sounds of celebration mixed with honest grief. There’s a lot of life happening at Joshua Station!
Joshua Station is situated within a sixty-five-year-old motel building. However, Joshua Station is not a motel; it is a home for up to 30 families. It’s a place where moms and dads are overcoming adversity, teenagers are daring to trust, and children are simply being children!
After more than 60 years of hard use, our not a motel is in need of some love. In the summer of 2025, we are replacing walkways and stairs, installing a security fence, painting, and completing a number of other repairs. Our families are moving between units to make room for construction. We are even accommodating some Joshua Station families in a motel that is a motel until we’ve finished the renovations on their home at JS.
The renovation work will cost around $1.5 million. Fortunately, the City of Denver will cover nearly half of that amount. A handful of friends and partners have contributed funds to help us reach almost $1 million. We need to raise about $500,000 in the next six months to complete the project.
Between 250,000 and 300,000 vehicles drive by Joshua Station every day. Soon, you’ll notice a huge hanging banner on the side of our building (a building that is not a motel) with a URL connecting you to a website called NOTAMOTEL.COM. We hope that a large number of the 300,000+ people who drive by our not a motel every day will slow down a bit, click on our site, and get involved with Joshua Station.
Please join us and tell your friends about NOTAMOTEL.COM to support families rebuilding their lives after homelessness.
