Become a Volunteer at Joshua Station

Thank you for stepping into this sacred space, where hope and healing take place. As a volunteer at Joshua Station (a program of Mile High Ministries), you are not just offering your time – you are offering your heart. Our families are rebuilding their lives out of homelessness, and your presence carries the potential to be a source of connection, dignity, and encouragement.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Babysitting – We need babysitting weekly while adult groups are happening, monthly during Townhall meetings and periodically for special events. This can typically be done as an individual, but sometimes 3-4 people are needed.
  • Community Dinner – Provide a meal on Thursdays for our entire community. This is best done as a group as it requires providing a meal for approximately 70-90 people. It also involves setting up and cleaning the space after dinner.
  • Front Desk – Be the welcoming face of Joshua Station by greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and assisting residents with basic questions or needs. Shifts are available weekdays between 9 AM–4 PM. Ideal for individuals who enjoy hospitality and organization.
  • Resident Volunteer – Resident volunteers live at Joshua Station with discounted rent and are immersed into community life. They share their own life stories, hopes, and struggles with fellow residents in mutual friendship. They contribute 10-15 hours per month in community service, typically while employed or in school.
  • Special Events – Help us create memorable community events and fundraisers by assisting with planning, setup, décor, hospitality, and cleanup. Opportunities vary throughout the year and are perfect for creative problem‑solvers who thrive in dynamic settings.
  • Spruce A Room – Help get a room ready for a new family to move in. This is best done as a group activity as it requires a fair amount of time and costs. This opportunity is more sporadic. We’ll add you to our waitlist and will send you an email as soon as rooms are ready to be spruced.
  • Work Groups – If you are a skilled laborer or have unskilled enthusiasm, we have work for you! If you have a group of students, coworkers, or friends who want to get your hands dirty, we have opportunities from landscaping, power washing, deep cleaning, trash pick-up, moving furniture, etc. We also have plenty of opportunities for individuals as well!
  • Youth – We have many opportunities to work with youth. These include tutoring, summer camp/activities, weekend events, and reading buddies.
