I also want to share what’s cookin’ at CBC these days. It’s drywall week! What a dramatic, swift transformation from a big structure of sticks to residence rooms and community spaces. It’s also electrical week, window week, brick week, roof week, and and and… an intricately choreographed scurry of activity.

Some things go slow and some things fast. It’s amazing how it took 18 years of dreaming, praying planning, fundraising, engineering, and permitting—and then… workers with tools roll in and build the whole thing in a year.

Our project team is busy now with “how things will look.” My brain is full of colors. Today, we’re picking colors for the outdoor play equipment and picnic tables. We’re also meeting with local artists this week, who will lend their talents to outdoor and indoor murals. We want the built environment to match—and inspire—the vibrant community life at Clara Brown Commons and the surrounding neighborhood.

Grateful to be on the journey with you as all this unfolds.

Peace in Christ,

Jeff Johnsen

Executive Director
