“Home.” It’s the most common way our residents refer to Joshua Station.
It’s the most rewarding for us to hear, because we are a “ministry of presence and place.” Daily, we practice a way of the heart—invited but never forced—that weaves residents, volunteers, interns, partners, and staff together in belovedness. We delight in outcomes expressed not merely in numbers but in our unfolding stories, for futures yet unseen.
Our hearts, and our stories, need a home.
Our work helps both us and our neighbors have the experience of being at home…
- Within a welcoming community (hospitality)
- Within ourselves (healing)
- Within a future of positive opportunity (hope)
Home.
Hospitality.
Healing.
Hope.
These are four daily touchstones for us at Mile High Ministries. We would also commend these touchstones to you, as you reflect on your own life:
- How do you already experience home as welcoming community, as a home within yourself, and within a future blessed with opportunity?
- How, practically, might you cultivate home more deeply?
- How might you gift these realities to others?
We’re grateful for all the ways we share home with our residents, and with you.
Peace,
Jeff Johnsen
